Donington Park - Saturday 19 May 2012 Johnny Herbert meets Fiesta Junior The lunch period at the Donington Park meeting on Saturday 19 May was an opportunity for the Fiesta Junior drivers to meet arguably one of the leading favourite UK race drivers - Johnny Herbert. Johnny took time out from his busy weekend race schedule where he was piloting the very quick Maserati Quattroporte. Seen above - Ben Wilcox, James Ross, James Manning, Johnny Herbert - Jack Mitchell, Aiden Moffat - Charlie Ladell. Johnny was able to spend some quailty time with our young drivers and was able to point out many areas for them to concentrate on as they did a tour of the full GP Donington Park track. A big thank you to Johnny Herbert for his time and enthusiasm devoted to young competitors.

30 March 2012 2012 Regulations I am happy to report that the recent issue over the type of tyre allowed by the MSA has been ratified by the MSA and they have confirmed to the BRSCC that the Dunlop slick tyre is now the control tyre for the championship. This will follow the same tyre as the senior championship. The Approved by MSA Regulations will be published on the website as soon as they are received via the BRSCC. This may be today. You may now order the Dunlop slick tyre from HP Tyres in the usual way. 09 February 2012 What a fabulous day and what about the announcements -l Sponsor and end of year prize revealed at Castle Combe on Wednesday 8th February. Ford Racing UK's Kevin Shortis announced that he was pleased to be able to reveal that for 2012 the title will be Motorsport News Fiesta Junior Championship. This is brilliant news and means that the championship will receive a massive boost in coverage in the weekly motorsport outlet. Shortis then announced the 2012 Motorsport News Fiesta Junior Champion will receive a full test day in a Touring Car Ford Focus to be run by Kent based British Touring Car team - Motorbase Performace headed by Dave Bartrum. This prize will be eagerly anticipated by the many young drivers who will be striving to lift the title in this first full year of the championship. The Fiesta Junior Championship test and ARDS day at Castle Combe produced SIX new drivers taking ARDS tests and passing. Five of these will add to the three from last week and this will now take the number of Fiesta junior licence holders approaching 18. AJK-TV filmed the day and interviewed many of those who took part, and this will form a news item on both our fordracingeu tv channel on youtube and www.fiestajunior.ms . Those who passed their ARDS test at Castle Combe were grateful for the expert guidance and help received from Race School Director Alan Cooper and his team. All instructors were very impressed with the application and determination of the young drivers and they were also delighted by the level of expertise shown by our young Fiesta Junior hopefuls. Passing ther ARDS test were - Louis Millar, Austen Waite, Aiden Moffat, Aiden Nippress, James Manning and Gerrard de Bresser. Sampling the testing were Freddie Lee and Charlie Ladell together with Jack Mitchell and James Bourne. They will join Alfonso Skrizcka and James Ross who were unable to attend. Other young drivers are just putting the final touches to their programmes and will then be signing up. The whole day was organised and run with a smooth precision by Andrew Crighton, Advent Motorsport. The hard work and assistance of the participating teams was recognised and mentioned. They were - Ian Cowie Racing, Advent Motorsport, Daniels Motorsport and WDE Motorsport. We are very grateful for the kind help and assistance from Castle Combe Circuit who helped make this day so successful. Also attending; BRSCC Chairman - Bernard Cottrell, and BRSCC Competition Manager - Drew Furlong. The BRSCC are keen to stress the evolvement from the previous successful T-Car Championship into this great new Junior Championship. It was also heartening that representatives of other teams and two potential sponsors were also keen to see the Motorsport News Fiesta Junior Championship at first hand. The level of interest has rocketed in recent days and organisers are expecting numbers to be higher than expected. Further announcements will follow over the coming days and weeks. Other News in today At an open day yesterday at North Weald Aerodrome, Essex, Fiesta Junior Championship organiser Kevin Shortis met and discussed the current junior championships with the new 750 MC competition secretary Giles Groombridge. It is clear that both wish to attract more junior drivers into the sport and that maybe they should set aside commercial interestes at times, in order to present an attractive way to get the message out into the karting and wider prospective junior audience to encourage more young people into both championships.

Race day co-ordinators
announced.
Ford Racing UK today confirmed the race day co-ordinating roles for both the Fiesta Championship and Fiesta Junior Championship.
The Fiesta Championship will see Lucy Ramsden continue in the role she undertook in 2011 and has proved a hit with competitors and officials. Her ready smile and energetic approach to the task has made her a favourite in the Fiesta paddock.
The Fiesta Junior Championship will now benefit from the experience of Tracey Leitch. Tracy comes with a strong motorsport pedigree and has had connections with many well known international motorsport drivers and teams. Her pro-active demeanour is already being felt within the Fiesta Junior Championship and none more so than the recent Autosport International Show at the NEC where she helped to man the Ford Racing UK stand.
Both championships will run on the same bill but with separate races and
all will be filmed by AJK-TV for transmission as separate dedicated programmes
on MotorsTV and in the USA on a new web based TV channel www.goracingtv.com |

13th December 2011 Higher interest following MotorsTV plug A promotional plug seen in the season review of the 2011 Fiesta Championship (senior) saw interviews and then large banner ads across the screen showing www.fiestajunior.ms as the link, has seen a near dozen brand new leads from prospective drivers emerge within 24 hours of the airing. Many of these leads are very serious given the identity of the persons concerned. Two leading teams have already filled their first four places and are having to consider building more cars to accommodate demand. Placed financially between Ginetta Junior and SaxMax the 'junior touring car' Fiesta ST is the one to race in if you wish to progress into other higher profile motorsport. In both cost of the car and the seasons running costs, the ST is set closer to SaxMax and much lower than Ginetta Junior. Both other championships offer different levels to suit the customer, but with Fiesta Junior, the whole package is one that will be hard to beat whichever way one looks at it. A full television pacakge has been agreed with leading motorsport production company AJK-TV for the 2012 season action to appear first on MotorsTV and then when launched the MotorsTV HD Channel. The prospect of seeing our racing in high definition is eagerly anticipated. Fiesta Junior is now attracting much more attention and with the approaching Autosport International Show and the sight of Fiesta Junior STs on different stands (including a dedicated championship one). Over one dozen cars have been built and now we hear of another half dozen plus which are being started. The intention of placing 14 - 18 cars out on the first race in April is now more than realistic - a probable fact of life. Fiesta Junior - more cars in build News that further teams have received orders to build brand new Fiesta Junior race cars means that by the end of this year over a dozen cars will be ready for racing in 2012. Reports that several drivers tested in proper solo junior sessions at Snetterton on 26th October were encouraging. All teams report increased interest and determination to build further cars should easily surpass the expected 18 cars that are thought to looking to start the first 2012 race. Championship organiser Ford Racing UK is now suggesting numbers around two dozen nearer the mark with ever increasing approaches likely to make it more. The television package is confirmed and in place for 2012 with half hour dedicated programmes to schedule on MotorsTV. Discussions are to be opened with potential sponsors and these will be released in January at the Autosport Show.

Fiesta Junior to star at Brands Hatch as it hosts the Formula Ford Festival 14 October 2011 With now more than 10 cars built to Fiesta Junior specification, the outing at Brands Hatch will be the last in 2012 as drivers take to the track for three races on Saturday. Today more interest has been forthcoming as a leading Junior Team who has contacted the championship organiser to state that they have one firm order to build a Fiuesta Junior for the 2012 season. The team proprietor who is well known in junior circles indicated that they anticipate more young drivers coming on board as well. It is a matter of fact now that interest levels in the 2012 season are running very high with nationwide attention. Several karting drivers are also looking to make the transition to Fiesta Junior as well. A report on the Brands Hatch racing will follow.

History made at Lydden Hill 14 September 2011 Sunday 11th September 2011 saw history made on two counts. The first was the maiden outing of the Daniels Motorsport brand new Ford Fiesta Zetec S (Mk 7) which was literally finished on the Saturday morning. The car then did the regulatory laps behind the Fiesta Championship saftey car prior to the two races scheduled for the afternoon timetable. The car broadly ran well and led the second race outright for many laps until driver Pete Daniels found a fuel surge make progress harder and so as not to get tangled with the other calss battles behind, elected to fall back in space. After the race Daniels reported the car has greta potential and the team were looking forward to fettling it in properly and then getting on to build more for customers for the 2012 season. The second was the outing of the Fiesta Junior- Fiesta STs. Several cars were on show in track action on both days. A great future beckons and the interest is now expanding to record levels with cars being built by WDE Motorsport, Daniels Motorsport and O'Dell Motorsport. Other team equiries have also been received this week which bodes well for numbers in 2012.
Four of the eight cars which all took to the track later.

10 September 2011 Lydden Hill and more Junior cars revealed on track weekend. Lydden Hill played host to the first offical track sessions for Fiesta Junior Championship cars which ran alongside the Ford Fiesta Championship senior outing.. With three sessions scheduled for the weekend event (two today and one on Sunday) the glorious Kent weather made this Kentish circuit the perfect backdrop for the inaugural outings of the Fiesta Junior Fiesta STs.. 8 junior specification cars were on show. Fiesta Junior drivers Alfonso Skriczka, James Ross and Freddie Lee were present with their cars and the Sunday session would see other drivers attend who due to other commitments were not able to join us on Staurday. The Fiesta Junior Championship has now really started to generate a lot of excitment and more and more cars are being built. Both WDE Motorsport and Daniels Motorsport have cars in build and plan to be ready for the next outing at Brands Hatch at the 40th anniversary and prestigious Formula Ford Festival where up to ten Junior cars should be out.

A record attendance of a near 20,000 people packed into Silverstone to see hundreds of Ford cars which included race cars from Fiesta Junior, Ford Fiesta Championship and the Ford XR Challenge. It was also revealed at the show that some more drivers are about to commit to the Fiesta Junior and hope to be out in time for the past two rounds of this season before taking on the full 2012 season. Thursday 30th June 2011 Full spec Fiesta Junior car races at Brands Hatch
Sunday 26th June at Brands Hatch saw the full race spec Fiesta Junior car make its debut in a proper race. The Daniels Motorsport prepared Fiesta Junior car was raced by experienced driver David Nye within the senior Ford Fiesta championship. Straight out of the box it was impressive and set some good lap times. Of a field of 25 Fiesta STs the car performed faultlessly and made good places in both 20 miniute races. The car built and run by Daniels Motorsport and Ford Racing UK must have made a favourable impression as a new young driver has come forward and his team have made a successful bid to purchase the car and collect it in the next few days. This means that three drivers are now ready to race, with another five looking to take up places soon. The drivers so far are Alfonso Skriczka, Henry Gilbert and James Ross. Other cars are nearing completion and ready to go. The aim to put 8 - 10 cars out for the first round at Rockingham is not now practical but the subsequent races are still planned to go ahead as drivers and cars sign up. Another positive feature is that a leading BTCC team have expressed interest in running a car in the Fiesta Junior Championship. A raft of press releases and television adverts (on MotorsTV) are being planned together with press days at a leading race venue - Brands Hatch where arrangements are now settled for young drivers to also gain their junior ards test and licence. All rounds will be filmed and will have a one half hour programme on MotorsTV. Contact Ford Racing UK - Tel: 01323 895859 or email info@fiestajunior.ms |

Wednesday 26 January 2011 Custom Cages - meeting demand The great news confirmed today by the leading rollcage specialists - Custom Cages is that they are now geared up to process three or four bodyshells every ten days to ensure that sufficient cars will be ready for the opening round at Rockingham in July. The Daventry based Custom Cages is the company of choice for the Fiesta Junior race cars and the standard of workmanship has to be seen to be believed. New competitors join the championship. Today Ford Racing UK learned that O'Dell Motorsport are to enter two Fiesta Junior race cars with one confirmed signing and a provisional agreement in place for the second driver. Yorkshire based TMS (Tockwith Motor Sports) also confirmed today that they will be entering three drivers and building one possibly two extra cars to meet anticipated demands for the Fiesta Junior Championship. Also adding to the field is a car prepared and to be run for his son by another capable father - details to follow next week. The tally of competitors is now exceeding the growth figures anticipated by championship organisers. Good news for this BRSCC race organised championship. AST Suspension ready to meet demand AST UK are geared up to manufacture and supply suspension units for the Fiesta Junior STs. They have ordered further sets to cater for the orders and the next batch of 15 are due in the UK within the next three weeks. A revised a complete race calander is now available to view on the button above. It is looking like the Fiesta Junior Championship is starting to accelerate towards a higher level of interest. Keep tuning in ! |

Tuesday 25 JAN 2011 Motorsport News advert for Fiesta Junior to appear in MN on 26 JAN. A quarter page advert is to appear in the forthcoming issue of Motorsport News for 26 JAN. This also follows the welcome news that O'Dell Motorsport are to build and run two cars for new junior 'stars' and follows hot on the heels of two more serious enquiries from other junior drivers. This adds to the seven or eight other drivers who are about to commit to the championship. The momentum is now gathering pace. It has now been confirmed that the race calendar will start at Rockingham in July and the season will see the two postponed rounds slotted in between then the and final October races at Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival. Friday 21st January 2011 Post Autosport debrief Well, the Autosport Show is now history but the definite news taken away from the show has exceeded even optimistic expectation. We are now planning to see between 10 - 12 drivers out the first race rounds. A realistic approach has now translated into realistic numbers. It has also become apparent that due to birthdays, as many new young drivers are not 14 until May 2011, that we are in discussion to bump the calendar back by several weeks to ensure that all get a full crack at the season. This means that both the opening races at Snetterton and Donington will be rescheduled to allow the 10 race season to take place. Discussions with the BRSCC will see how best to resolve this and the new calendar will appear very soon. It was very heartening to meet with so many potential drivers and parents and to hear how positive they are. The last commitment came just one half hour before the show finally closed on Sunday night, when Bob Ross (former class champion racer from Ford Saloons) declared his son would look to join Fiesta Junior. Teams have also expressed strong interest and are now sourcing donor cars to build into Fiesta Junior spec' racers. It would seem that the championship specification car seen on the Ford Racing UK stand wowed not only those looking to race but also the sports governing body officials (M.S.A) who made an examination on the Sunday morning. The championship will go ahead in 2011 and will consist of a 5 weekend 10 race programme for 2011. For those who are to build their own car(s), then please check the manual for reference. It may be found under the tab above - points-regulations-registration. Testing and ARDs are now being planned and details will appear on this page and will be sent to any contact email address who has expressed interest. If you are unsure whetjer you are on the championship email list then please send a short email to info@fiestajunior.ms This championship is run for the benefit of the competitors and is run not for profit. You will find the management team flexible and sympathetic at all times but not tolerant to bad driving or any off track behaviour that is likely to bring the championship or motorsport in disrepute.

Saturday 15th January A surge of interest from new potential competitors who have made the Ford Racing UK stand so busy today as enquiries for the Fiesta Junior Championship have exceeded all expectations. Significantly, many are coming from Karts and have been shocked to find how much less costly the Fiesta Junior Championship actually is to take part in. Already the early grid for the first race is now nearly full. This is good news for all and reflects the modest costs for participating. Running on slick tyres in a car described by Touring Car driver Paul O'Neil as a 'mini-touring car', this is now becoming the junior car of choice for the 14 - 16 year old competitors.
